Meeting through East London Dance in 2009, it was clear that Charlene wanted to collaborate and work with Laura. Since then, through collaboration, friendship and mutual interest in inclusive dance, Charlene as been Laura's mentor, and role model in navigating through both freelance and company work. Currently Laura is Associate Director of Sardines Dance Collective and is constantly learning and being inspired by the work that Sardines Dance Collective does for the community and Young People.
After meeting at a Candoco RnD session with Alexander Whitely and bonding over being Filipino and Hip Hop Dance - Laura initiated collaborations on the basis of wanting to learn more about Sign Language in Dance. Today he has been integrated into the Sardines Dance Collective as well as being a collaborator and consultant for Sign Language within works produced by both Sardines Dance Collective and LauraDDances.
Having seen Marso in the Hip Hop world and navigating her way through both Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance, Marso was the role model she had been searching for to both,m mentor, collaborate and aspire to. As Part of her RnD Running Low On. Fuel, he was her mentor and later collaborated with the MS Society UK and People Dance to make Adaption. Also a talented Photographer with a first hand perspective to photography and dance, he took the Promo shots for #FMSSolo.
Meeting at Rich Mix as Front of House colleagues, Laura approached Jnr Williams to collaborate in a performace for her Wild Card: Take a Closer Look with one of his songs Sweet Sunrise. After "Meeting Chuckie" (her right leg amputation) she collaborated with Jnr Williams and Simon Kusnierek to write Finding My Strength which launched onto music platforms in December 2017. She continues to use the track in her creative dance work.
After meeting Shaun at Stuck In The Mud and working on the production on different aspects of the choreography, Laura and Shaun collaborated as part of her development with GDance and a mutual shared interest in getting to know each other artistically.
